I like words. I like reading them and I like writing them, and I especially like it when they make sense. However, the English language is a strange and complex thing, and it can be very easy to get things wrong in the heat of the moment. You only have to look at the average tweet to realise that something that seemed so right when it was being written can be as clear as mud when it’s thrown out into the big wide world.
That’s why writing and editing are two very different jobs. The writer (that’s you) has something to say and an idea of how to say it; the editor helps them to say it and get their full meaning across. They can navigate the ins, outs, and intricacies of the English language and all its weird little grammatical symbols to help make the writer’s message sing.
As your editor, I’ll bring my experience and training with the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP) to bear on anything you wish to publish. I’ll work with you to make sure your work says what you want it to say in a way that is clear and unambiguous. Whatever your brief, whatever your preferred style, I’ll be with you every step of the way to make your message the very best that it can be.
